Hello, hola!
My name is Yesenia, but I go by Yesi. I am bilingual in English and Spanish, first-generation, Latinx from South Texas, the Rio Grande Valley. I have been in the Austin and surrounding areas for 10 years now. Some things I absolutely love are: my husband, my dogs (Bonita & Koda), nature, crystals, and the color lilac.
I received my Bachelor’s in Social Work in 2017 and my Master’s in Social Work in 2018 at Texas State University-San Marcos. Since graduating, I have worked with families of all cultural backgrounds, at-risk youth, survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, parents, adults, children, and teens. My experience has shown me the importance of positive relationships and acceptance in child development. Relationships build trust and confidence in children to meet their goals. Humans thrive on connection, since before we are even born, and I pride myself on my ability to create trusting, working relationships not only with my clients, but their families as well. I work with children and adolescents using Prescriptive Play Therapy, EMDR, and Client Centered approaches to address behavioral and emotional issues.
