TBRI®
Trust-Based Relational Intervention®

Every child needs to feel safe, seen, and connected. For children who have experienced stress, trauma, or challenges in their early years, relationships can sometimes feel confusing or overwhelming. Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) is a compassionate, evidence-based approach that helps caregivers and children build strong, healthy connections.
TBRI® focuses on three core principles: Connecting, Empowering, and Correcting. Through practical tools and strategies, caregivers learn how to meet their child’s physical, emotional, and relational needs in ways that promote trust and healing.
This approach is especially helpful for families caring for children who have faced adversity, but its principles can support any caregiver-child relationship. TBRI® helps reduce challenging behaviors, strengthens bonds, and gives children the support they need to thrive.
At Hopeful Waters Wellness, we use TBRI® to guide families toward more connection, understanding, and peace in their daily lives. Earley Barnes-Ullrich is a TBRI Practitioner and Yesi Willis is trained in TBRI.
